Candle Care and FAQ

Candle Care

Take care of your candle by:

  • For best burning experience, burn in a smaller enclosed space like your bedroom, bathroom, or office space.
  • Always trim your wick down to 1/4 inch prior to burning your candle.
  • Allow your candle to burn for at least two hours every time you light it. This will give you a nice fragrance and will allow the wax to burn evenly.
  • Make sure you get a full melt pool (the entire 1/4 inch top layer of wax melts to every corner of the glass) before you put out your candle to prevent tunneling.
  • Never burn your candle overnight while you sleep. Always burn your candle in plain sight.
  • Make sure your candle is in a safe and flat space, free from any curtains, paper, open windows, or things of that nature.
  • It is recommended that small candles burn for two hours at a time and larger candles can burn for up to four hours. Never burn a candle for more than four hours.

How to Clean and Continue the Use of Your Glassware:

  1. Clean the wax from your jar. The best way to do this is with hot water. Heat some water in the microwave or on the stove, it doesn't need to come to a complete boil. Then, pour the hot water directly into your jar (another way to do this is to place the jar with the remaining wax into the hot water and letting it sit there to heat up for a minute or two). Pour the water and wax from the jar and into a paper bag or your trash. Avoid pouring wax down the drain of your sink. You'll notice that the wick base and wick sticker remain. Use a solid utensil to remove the wick and wick sticker (butter knife, spoon, etc.). You'll find that it's sturdy but it will come off! Last, use soap and warm water to get your jar clean.
  2. Return your vessel to its original use. If your candle glassware was once a drinking glass, you can return it to its home in a cabinet and use it to drink from. If your vessel was once a baby food jar, you can now use it to store foods like dressings, travel sized snacks, and sauces.
  3. Craft it into something new. This is the most creative option, your vessel can become a pen and pencil holder in its most simplest form. It can be the home to your makeup brushes, cotton balls/wipes, or even the place you put your hair scrunchies and pins. When it comes to crafting, the sky's the limit.
