My goal, with this small business, has always been to bring people together. Over the last year, the growth of this community has been beautiful.
Through sustainability, community, and accountability, I believe that we can save the world. This may be, arguably, naive....but it feels like the only way. It's way too easy to accept the world as it is. We must challenge ourselves into accepting an ideal world and then fighting for it, like our lives depend on it, because they do. The collective lifeline that we share does not have a pulse without community. Community cannot happen without individuals coming together.
Over that last year, I've seen the magic communities can make when they come together and fight for a common goal. BUT I've also seen the darkness that can happen when we refuse to share in the common struggle, the fight for human rights.
Everytime I pour a candle I think about the individual who will receive it. I think about the ways that I can pour the best parts of myself into each vessel, package it up, and share it with each and every one of you. How can a candle be any better than that?
So, I challenge you to have the difficult conversation. Tell the story that makes you feel bigger than life. Share the information you've learned. Choose to fight for the world that you want with the people you want to experience it with. In that fight same fight, I encourage you to fight for everyone; your neighbor, your family, a stranger.
